IANGEL stands with the people of Ukraine
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) data shows that over five million Ukrainians have fled the country since the start of the war, many of them being women and children.1 As the conflict continues, these numbers will likely continue to rise and create an even greater humanitarian crisis for those who remain in the country. IANGEL stands with the people of Ukraine and condemns the violence and aggression that has taken place against innocent civilians by Russian forces. Feminist leaders for a greener future
This year’s Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) 66 priority theme explored gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls in the context of climate change. At IANGEL’s CSW66 parallel event, our panel discussed the important role that pro bono lawyers play in assisting change agents worldwide to combat climate injustice, including the often gendered effects of climate change and Covid-19. For those who were unable to join or those that would like to rewatch the discussion, a link to the recording in full can be found on our website: iangel.org/csw66
