Since 2022, IANGEL has been in direct contact with Afghan women educators and advocates inside Afghanistan, providing financial and emotional support for their brave efforts to continue to educate girls and women, in defiance of Taliban prohibitions. Their work includes core curriculum education, advocacy for rights and education, training women in weaving and needle arts to provide a means of support, and teaching art to express humanity in the face of stifling restrictions. Below is a new year’s message of gratitude IANGEL recently received from the head of four schools we support:
On behalf of Freshta’s Educational and Handicrafts Organization, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude for your generous support toward the education of Afghan girls. Your commitment to funding our initiatives has made an incredible difference in the lives of so many young girls who, despite facing significant challenges, now have the opportunity to access quality education.
Thanks to your support, we have been able to provide a safe and conducive learning environment for Afghan girls, and offer essential educational materials and resources. The positive impact of your contribution is already evident, as more girls are enrolling in our institutions, developing vital skills, and becoming empowered to shape their futures.
We are thrilled to share that with IANGEL funding, we have not only been able to continue and expand educational programs but also strengthen our communities by fostering a culture of learning and inclusion. Your partnership is crucial in helping us overcome the barriers that Afghan girls face in accessing education.
We look forward to continuing this journey with you and working together to create even greater opportunities for Afghan girls. Once again, thank you for your unwavering support, and for making a lasting impact on the future of Afghan girls.
Best regards,
